Israeli Defense Forces Developed Remote Controlled Sniper Rifle

The system is called Tanin (Alligator) and it mounts a .50 cal Barrett sniper rifle.

This system is undoubtedly not cheap, but the risk of losing a rifle and mount is less than that of losing a sniper, who are highly trained and rare commodities.

I wonder if we will see this in use in the near future.

My hunch is that it will be used often...it's the middle east.

YA, this is a way cool snoper rifle but its still not the one they keep showing in the movies, like the remake of DAY OF THE JACKEL with Bruce Willis and what about Shooter.

YES I know it's just THE movieS but alot of stuff you see in them are real and alot are not, which is why I'm on this page today.

Except what you saw in the movie was NOT a rifle, it was a 20 or 30mm CANNON on a programable mount.
Big difference.

So could a programable mount with a 50 calibre rifle make a shot of a mile and a half or 2667 yards whichever is the greater, because as im sure you all know thats the official combat record
